Model first, finish second
Karambit and Butterfly sell animation. Bayonet and M9 sell length. Talon and Stiletto sell silhouette. Decide which motion you watch every round before chasing a finish.
Finish families that age well
Doppler, Fade, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, and Lore-adjacent prestige finishes stay readable. Case Hardened is a pattern lottery — only buy if you like the screenshot in your hands, not a tier list.
Entry blades
Gut, Navaja, Shadow Daggers, and Falchion open the door with cheaper finishes. A clean Ultraviolet or Damascus on a “less cool” model often looks better than a scraped hype finish.
